This past Monday, I had the awesome opportunity to teach poetry to some 8th grade English classes. (After we finally figured out public school Zoom permissions.)

It was great!

We focused on Maya Angelou's "Still I Rise." I even got to tell them about the time I met Maya during college.

Honestly, I felt at home doing this, focusing on something I'm confident in. You should have seen the notes I made prior to the class. The students were very receptive to the lesson as well, especially the last class.

Now, teaching on Zoom is far different from in an actual classroom, in person, but it was still great. Definitely a learning experience for me with technology.
